Since its creation in 2021, the Festival de la Gastronomie has become increasingly important. It is now an essential annual event for gourmets and food lovers. This year, for the third edition, the Tourist Office on the French side has planned an enticing 10-day program.

TASTINGS AROUND THE SORREL

The festival will kick off on Saturday November 11th with the launch of discovery menus in participating restaurants. You will be able to taste a dish concocted by the restaurateurs around the flagship ingredient of this third edition: the sorrel. Each establishment will be able to compete for the title of Best Table of Saint-Martin in the category «Gourmets Stars», «Beach Stars», «City Stars» or «Authentic Stars». Caterers and food trucks will compete separately in their own categories.

WORKSHOPS AND DINNERS

The «Taste of Sunrise», a new event around the traditional breakfast will be offered on Sunday, November 12th at 978 Beach Lounge in Friar’s Bay. On Monday November 13th and Tuesday November 14th, interventions are planned at the Daniella Jeffry Vocational School. In the evening of the 14th, 5 guest chefs will offer a “Dîner des chefs”. A “Cocktail and food pairing” evening will also be offered on Monday upon reservation to highlight the marriages between dishes and cocktails. The not-to-be-missed cooking workshops will be organized at the Marina Fort Louis, on Wednesday 15th for children and on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th for adults. On Thursday, November 16th, the street “rue de la République” will be pedestrianized to host the barbecue contest. The restaurant and mixology competition finals will be held on Tuesday, November 21st at Marina Fort Louis.

THE GASTRONOMY VILLAGE

As last year, the Gastronomy Village will be accessible for free, starting from Friday November 17th in front of the ferry terminal of Marigot. Stands will be offered by restaurants, food trucks, caterers and artisans who value local products. The music will mingle with gastronomy with thematic evenings around jazz on Friday, zouk on Saturday and reggae on Sunday. The festival will close on Wednesday November 22nd with a great evening at the Gastronomy Village, invested for the occasion by the invited chefs.
