« Tant qu’il y aura des coquelicots… » : our opinion

This Friday January 12th, actors Cliff Paillé and Lyne Lebreton presented the play « Tant qu’il y aura des coquelicots… » at the La Chapelle theater in Orient Bay. A funny and touching little theater gem that captures the very essence of reading and writing.

Paul is 10 years old and doesn't like reading. But one day, his teacher introduced him to literature. Through perseverance, pretty metaphors and subtle life education, she introduces him to the pleasure of reading and spreads a little happiness in the life of this kid who is trying to find himself.

With a text by Cliff Paillé, finely combining beauty of language and modernity of tone, the two actors from mainland France are brilliant in their accuracy and sincerity. This play, which triumphed for 3 years at the Avignon Festival, is a sort of modern “Dead Poets Society” which makes us want to take more time to delve into the pages of a good book and broaden our perspectives on the world.
